I have completed my CELTA course with Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK in 2018 where I was the ESL instructor to both pre-intermediate and upper intermediate learners which cuts across students from over seven (7) countries including Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Congo DRC, China, Japan and Russia. I was awarded a Pass grade in my CELTA.
In the course of the program, I had eighteen (18) Standard ratings and five (5) Above Standard (S+) ratings for excellent classroom management skills, designing communicative language lessons with variety and engaging approaches, accurate language analysis appropriate for the classroom, establishing a good student-teacher rapport, and adaptation of resource materials amongst other cognate teaching skills. My tutors regularly commended my ability to put my students at ease and create a learning-friendly atmosphere.
Along with a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree I have also completed the (TKT) Teaching Knowledge Test modules 1-3 in language background analysis, class management and lesson planning. I have over 15 years teaching experience in varieties of context spanning Primary to Tertiary institutions; 8 of which as an English teacher to elementary, pre-intermediate, upper-intermediate and professionals using creative resources, at the same time, maintaining an exciting pace for learning.
I am prepared to experience teaching in a different cultural background and all the opportunities for contribution it offers. I am currently the Managing Partner/ Director of Studies an ESL Tutor at the Mathematics Place in Nigeria. These roles have enhanced my communication skills and fine-tuned my ability to creatively present logical teaching and classroom management techniques to my students. In addition, I work part-time as a home tutor to secondary school students.
It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to my learners and the larger community.

Science Tutor and in this time I prepared the lesson plans and
teaching schedules for the tutorial house and also held briefs for
the director whenever he was away on out-of-station work which
was regular. In 2011, I founded The Mathematics Place in Nigeria
which is an educational establishment that caters for the sciences
and language tutorial needs of students with a staff strength of 7
teachers. My role as director requires identifying the learning needs
of each student and assigning appropriate teacher(s) and level. I am
responsible for observing my teachers performance and giving them
(constructive) feedback on areas for improvement. In addition, I also
organize periodic training for my teachers as well as register them
for teacher training workshops with the British Council whenever
they are scheduled.
