Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for the post of full time ESL teacher in your school. As you will see from my attached CV, I am a native English speaker and Canadian citizen with a Bachelor of Education (Professional Teacher Certification in Canada).
As my degree major was in Industrial Arts Education, I am well versed in teaching people how to make and do things, which makes me a very good demonstrator. I have also completed a 140 hour certificate course in teaching TEFL in 2004 and have most recently been teaching primary school students. Previously most of my 20 years of teaching experience has been with kids through adults, of all ages, grades and levels.
There is however a caveat in that as of September 10th of this last year I turned 63 years of age. I understand that this can be a problem as some schools refuse to talk with me at that age, never mind hire me. I am in good physical shape, with no infirmities and I love teaching so I have no desire to quit or retire as of yet.
If I haven't scared you away yet, my Skype ID is: RandyTeacher.
As much as I would like to send you a copy of my video introduction, I have had several problems in the past getting it to load into my e-mails as an attachment. Fortunately that problem was solved when I created my own webpage and loaded my video onto there. Please feel free to view it at http://randyhedges.com/intro and I hope that it meets your needs.
I would very much like the opportunity to discuss the post with you. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for taking the time to view my CV.
Randy Hedges, B.Ed.
